Celebrating our very own talented authors and poets within Class 3

Lesson: Literacy

Class: Hillside Class Year: 2021 - 2022

Using the text 'Whale' by Vita Murrow as a stimulus, the children in Class 3 have been developing their narrative writing skills this term and have proudly presented illustrated versions of their story extracts to share. We are really proud of their use of language to create and build up both the atmosphere and settings within their texts . Do come along to the classroom to see a dsiplay of their work.

Class 3 have also proven themselves to be amazing poets  – studying poems about the sea before creating their own. Their use of metaphors, similes, personification and other literary techniques have impressed us and it is so good to see them all experimenting with ambitious vocabulary so enthusiastically. Alongside the poetry we have enjoyed looking at Hokusai’s wave artwork and other techniques for drawing waves to illustrate our work.
