EYFS
We have quite a unique setting for our EYFS (Reception) pupils as they share their learning space with our Key Stage 1 pupils (Year 1 and Year 2).
Having our Reception pupils working in the same environment as KS1 really supports their transition when they join our school as their older class mates serve as really strong role models, who support our 4 year olds with their new learning adventure.
This arrangement also means that transition from EYFS to Year 1 is seamless for our children as they continue to work in the same classroom and usually continue to work alongside staff who already know them very well.
Our highly skilled staff ensure that all elements of the EYFS curriculum are covered and outcomes at our school are high. Play, singing, active learning and continuous provision are top of our priority list.
When each child joins our school they are allocated a 'Buddy', who is a pupil from Year 5 or Year 6. This Buddy will sit with them at lunchtime, play with them during break, spend time reading with them and over time, build up a real bond with them.
Please read our Weekly Newsletters to see what our EYFS pupils get up to on a regular basis.
